1889 RUSSWIN #138 1/2-L PUSH BUTTON ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEYS 7 5/8" FACE (12385
Vintage: RARE RUSSWIN # 138 1/2 L, dated 1889, works fine, push button entry mortise lock and it comes with three functioning keys. Uncommon.
The lock is NOT reversible. Heavy brass faceplate with a great patina. The body of the lock clearly maker marked RUSSWIN one of America's many high quality manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th Century and early 20th Century.
Dimensions as follows:
FACEPLATE
: Brass front plate measures 7 5/8" long, 1 3/8" wide, 1/8" thick.
BOX
:
Box is 4" deep from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the back of the black box and it is 5" top to bottom.
SCREWS
: Screws are on 6 5/8" centers.
BACKSET
: Backset (the distance from the front of the front plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 7/8".
DROP
: T
he drop ( the distance from the center of the cylinder hole down to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".
KNOB POST SHAFT
: The lock is made for a 5/16" split-pivot square pos
T, so the knobs would be the standard 5/16" and choices would be many.
Very clean, no rust, functions very well, heavy duty and with keys!
