Description
(3) antique Iron skeleton keys. Recently discovered in the basement of Wistars Headquarters in Mathews county Virginia. Gen. Isaac Wistar of the Union army was in Mathews county searching for John Yates Beall and members of the Confederate Coast guard. The largest key is 5 inches long. The next is 3 3/4 inches long. The last is 3 3/8 inches long. It is slightly bent. All are rusted but have been treated with (Ospho) a rust neutralizer. They are all solid and strong.
The home they were found in supposedly dates to the 1840’s. It has been called by many names. Edwards hall, Bohannon house and Hurricane hall 2. I like to call it Wistars HQ. Gen. Wistar used this home as his headquarters while searching for John Yates Beall.
All 3 included in this lot and being sold as is.
