    Description

Early wrought iron draw-back rim lock, circa 1800.  Lock body measures
    3 1/2" high x 5" deep x 3/4"
without the keeper and is non-reversible,
    right hand only
.  Original keeper is 1" wide.  Lock is all original and professionally restored in our shop. This type of lock uses a 7/8" diameter brass knob on brass back plate which slides horizontally to "draw back" the latch to open the door.  There are no knobs outside - access is by key only.  Included is original brass key escutcheon (1 3/4" x 1 1/8") for the exterior shown in separate photo.  The brass 1 1/2" high vertical finger slide to the right of the knob will lock the latch drawn back into the latch unlocked or into locked extended position.  When the latch is locked into the locked position it cannot be opened even by key from the outside and can only be opened from the inside.  Back set to keyhole center is 3".  A unique early lock.  The 4 1/4" bronze key is later but old key replacement.  Good working condition.
