    Description

    Old Colonial Revival mortise passage latch from the 1930's in cast iron and complete.  Looks like the latch set was never used and has the original passage latch and strike.  Latch body measures 2 7/8" high x 2 3/8" deep x 7/8" thick with a face that is 4 3/4" high x 1" wide.  The strike is 3" high x 1".   Both face and strike are in original black finish as are the accompanying handles - one for each side of the door.  Handles are heavy cast measuring 8 7/8" overall.  The upper rectangular mount measures 4" x 2".  The thumb latch lever fits through the door and into the latch - up and down motion activates the latch on the mortise latch.  Adjustable for any door thickness up to 2 1/2" maximum.   In very working good condition - original finish shows shelf and storage wear with some loss.  Great thumb latch handle look with mortise latch convenience.
