    Description

    Circa 1835 antique American Suffolk style cast iron thumb latch handle as found.  A very early transition handle made from cast iron when most were still being made with wrought iron
    The very beginning of mast production of this type of handle.  This handle
    measures 6 7/8" high x 1 3/4" wide at the upper cusp and 1 5/8" wide at the lower.  The handle has a 3 1/2"
    grip opening with a rounded handle.  The thumb press is flat and pinned on the back pivot below the upper cusp with a straight thumb lift extending out 1 1/2"/  Nicely executed early American Suffolk style thumb latch handle, untouched and as found showing appropriate aging.  Purchase is for single handle only.
