LOCKWOOD T-5000 ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/CYLINDER & KEYS - 2 1/2" BACKSET EXCELLENT CONDITION (12299)
Vintage:  LOCKWOOD T-5000, circa 1930 - 1950 entry mortise lock lock.   Excellent condition. Comes with a brand new brass Security Guard cylinder and two new keys.
NOTE: THE T-5000 WAS PRODUCED WITH BOTH A 2 3/4" BACKSET AND A 2 1/2" BACKSET.  THIS LOCK HAS A 2 1/2" BACKSET.
Heavy brass faceplate with body of the lock unmarked, the T-5000 designation is found inside the lock body in the casting.  Lockwood was one of America's many fine manufacturers of builder's hardware during the first half of the 20th Century.
Dimensions as follows:
FACEPLATE:
Brass front plate measures  7 3/4" long, 1" wide, 1/8" thick.  Screws are on 6 7/8" centers.
MORTISE BOX:
Box is 3 3/4" deep from the front edge of the face plate and it is 5 5/8" top to bottom.
BACKSET:
Backset (the distance from the front edge of the front plate to the center of the cylinder and knob post opening) is 2 1/2".
KNOB SHAFT:
The box is set to accommodate a 3/8" split pivot knob post.
LOCK CYLINDER:
Comes with a new Security Guard brass cylinder and two keys.
Functions perfectly.
If you need a thumb turn knob, or strikeplate or a pivot shaft knob post to accommodate a knob on the inside of the door, let us know as we have them in stock and we can add that to your order and include in the same box when shipping.
