RHC 858 3/4 MORTISE LOCK w/KEY VERY NICE                FACEPLATE 5 3/8"  (7806-2)
Vintage, Circa 1890-1920, key works just fine, very nice, Reading Hardware Co., works perfectly.  NOTE: the 858 3/4 was made in at least two different sizes, so compare the size numbers outlined below carefully to the one you are replacing. It was also made with two different thicknesses of the faceplate, one with 1/16" thick steel and one with 3/16" brass, this is the latter version with the thicker brass faceplate.
The lock is reversible.
FACEPLATE:
Faceplate is heavy brass steel, 5 3/8" long, 7/8" wide, 3/16" thick.
BOX:
Box is 3 1/4" deep from the front edge of the face plate and it is 3 3/4" top to bottom.
SCREWS:
Screw holes are on 4 1/2" centers.
BACKSET:
Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".
DROP:
Drop (the distance from the center of the knob post hole down to the center of the round portion of the key hole) is 2 1/4".
KNOB POST:
The lock requires a standard 5/16" knob post.
KEY:
The lock comes with one functioning key.
