RARE ORIGINAL ANTIQUE YALE #86 #186 PADLOCK KEY BLANKS For Yale #88, #H853, #863 Padlocks
Very rare, Antique - NOS New Old Stock, Yale & Towne #86 and #186 key blanks. These gorgeous key blanks read YALE, Made in the USA. The reverse side YALE & TOWNE MFG CO. Made about the late 1800's. Compatible with Yale padlocks #88, #H853, #863, and others. I only have a limited quantity of these gems. Get them while you can!
These are very tiny and adorable key blanks. Very suitable for making jewelry. They're gorgeous!
Measures: 1 3/8" tip to end of bow, keyway is 3/16" wide, 7/8" long, 1.75mm thick, the bow is 5/8" wide. See photo for detailed measurements.
Made out of nickel-silver also called German silver. Nickel silver is stronger and more expensive than brass. And, it doesn't tarnish as much as brass. Back then, manufacturers chose nickel-silver over brass for higher quality items like these antique key blanks. Made in the USA.
These were part of an enormous antique Dallas locksmith collection with items dating back to the early 1800's.
