SARGENT #961 ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/CYLINDER & KEYS 7 3/4" FACE (15330)
Vintage, circa 1900-10: Salvaged SARGENT HARDWARE mortise lock #961 with a new brass lock cylinder and two keys. Entry mortise has been cleaned and restored.
FACEPLATE:
Mortise lock has a heavy brass face plate with a length of 7 3/4" and a width of 1 1/4" and double plated brass face thickness of 3/16".
BACKSET:
The backset (the measurement from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 3/4".
DROP:
The drop (the distance from the center of the key cylinder to the center of the knob post hole) is 4".
KNOB POST:
The lock accommodates a 1/2 knob post of 5/16" for the knob that works from the inside of the door.  On the outside of the door, the lock is designed to utilize a thumb press handle.
THUMB TURN:
The lock has a 1/4" square hole under the cylinder to accommodate a thumb turn knob from the inside of the door that throws the deadbolt.
REVERSIBILITY:
The lock is reversible.
LOCK CYLINDER:
The lock comes with a new Security Guard brass lock cylinder and two keys.
If you have a push button #961 that is not working, this may be a very simple replacement lock for you.
If you are simply replacing an existing lock identical to this one, you may already have everything you need.  If, however you need a knob post or other accessories for this lock, please write us as we can add to this order before you end the auction or arrange for a special Buy It Now auction for you for the other items.
